Standing 160ft tall, the Oculus is an impressive entrance to the World Trade Center site. Every September 11th, the "spine" skylight (forming the backbone of a dove in flight) opens to allow a beam of light to shine on the floor at exactly 10:28, the time the North Tower collapsed, in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
