Alexander Wright is a London and Southampton based photographer focusing on architectural and minimalist photography. In his spare time, he enjoys roaming around the streets of London looking for new photo opportunities with his friends.
His interest in photography began on family holidays and trips as he was growing up, however, it was not until he was at university that he started photography as a hobby. In his second year, he joined the Southampton University Photographic Society (SUPS), one of the oldest photographic societies in the UK. After a couple of weeks, Alexander was successfully elected onto its committee as the Events Coordinator. In this position, he was responsible for running SUPS Events, which provides event photography services to the societies of the University and local businesses. Currently, he is the President of SUPS and frequently presents photography lectures and runs workshops for other society members.
Along with running SUPS, Alexander is an events photographer for the Southampton University Students’ Union (SUSU) and university societies, taking over 30,000 event photos to date! Away from the camera, Alexander is a Medical Student at the University of Southampton. Currently in his third year, he is undertaking a research project within the Trauma & Emergency department at the University Hospital Southampton and is looking forward to starting clinical placements next year. Prior to medicine, Alexander was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Southampton.
