Arguably "that shot" of the Oculus (and one of my personal favourite views of the structure). A wide-angle-pano shot perfectly captures the scale of this stunning, minimalistic building.
Standing 160ft tall, the Oculus is an impressive entrance to the World Trade Center site. Every September 11th, the "spine" skylight (forming the backbone of a dove in flight) opens to allow a beam of light to shine on the floor at exactly 10:28, the time the North Tower collapsed, in remembrance of those who lost their lives. |
